  1. Man if you are 15 with a 9 HC....just practice and you will get it down to near zero.

  2. its like most things, you are probably the best player in your school.  However, when you get to college you are competting against te best players from ALL high schools.  I would say that to get on a top college team, and compete, you probably need to be closer to a 1 handicap.

However, your 15, college is 3 years away, scouts will start looking at you in about 2 years, I would say if you continue to show improvement, play more often and on tougher and tougher courses, the scouts will look favorable on you.

YOu do realize though, that you can call the college of your choice and speak to their coach and see what he would require.  Its also a good way to get a personal conenction with the coach so your not a statistic to him, your a person.

    Good luck!

  3. The last guy's right about tournament scores being a major factor.  I played Division 1 golf for two seasons and really to qualify, you'll want to be shooting mid to low 70's on courses that are at least 6800 yards.  Best wishes and hope this helps out.

  4. Im 15, and I'm about a 6 handicap. Colleges dont care what your handicap is, they care about what your tournaments scores are. Thats all they will ask for. Right now you can play in local tourneys and things like that. When you get down to like a 3, start playing in AJGA and FCWT tournaments to make yourself known to colleges.

  5. The good news is you have 3 years to improve.  You'll need to get down to near scratch or better to try to play college golf. But there are plenty of NAIA, Div 2 and 3, etc schools that have bad golf teams you could play for.  If you can shoot 75 or better on a tough course under tournament pressure, you can find a team somewhere that will love to have you. Good Luck.

  6. Not yet. Good schools don't want anyone with a handicap in the pluses.

But keep at it. You've got time to improve.
