  1. yes she is in heat... and thats pretty normal with alot of mares... she may be in heat for awhile without showing any mare-ish symptoms.

  2. sounds like it

  3. Most likely, she is in heat. My mare can be a witch when she is, squealing when I put a leg on her, trouble focusing, etc. They come in heat every three weeks for about a week on average. I LOVE my mares..hehe

  4. "Mares are usually in heat (called the Estrus phase) for 3-8 days long, depending on the time of year and whether or not a stallion is present. Early in the year, the mare will normally be in heat for 6 to 8 days but by midsummer only around 4 days.

Mares are out of heat for 14-16 days, (called the Diestrus phase) and then return to heat. "

  5. GELDINGS ARE SOO MUCH BETTER!!!!!

i had a mare once and sold her, never buy another one again

yeah, shes just in heat, that's all part of it, as long as the gelding isn't agressive, which he shouldnt be because geldings ROCK, then they are fine together and it's no big deal, everythin sounds normal to me

  6. when a mare is in heat she will bleed from her v****a, pee alot, and carry her tail a little higher than normal. what ur seeing is possible sweat. do u see it after you ride her?

  7. yes ur mare is in heat...i have a mare too. she should stay in it fro 1-2 weeks.

  8. she's i heat!!

  9. You do mean out of her v***a, right?  If so, that's normal and she may be in heat.  Expect it to last about 5 days, some are shorter, some are longer.  If it's coming out the r****m that's NOT normal and she may need looked at by the vet.  Sometimes when new horses are introduced, especially the mare meeting the gelding, they will behave this way even if she's not in heat.  Sounds like they're getting along fine!
