Is my income too much to receive financial aid....?

My husband makes 29,000 a year, is that too much? I currently do not make anything.

  1. For the two of you, that is not too much money. I would think that you would be eligible for Pell grants, which come from the government and are based on financial need. You can go to fafsa.ed.gov and answer some questions to find out your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which will tell you how much the government would expect you to pay to go to school. That is the number that will be used by both the government and your school to determine how much financial aid you will receive.


  2. If you go to a school that provides need-based financial aid rather than merit-based financial aid, you'd probably be able to go for free.

  3. no, that is not a lot of money coming in. You could probably get loans or scholarships from the government.
