I suffer from depression, and I've been feeling very hopeless and helpless lately. And I've been having nightmares about the one I love everyday, something horrible usually happens. Can this be the cause.

  1. No, it is probably the other way around. Your depression is causing the dreams. Without knowing the details of your dreams, it is hard to determine what they are saying.

Just a note about depression. Depression is usually caused by a chemical imbalance in your body. Not to say that you are imbalanced, just that your body may not make enough or make too much of the chemicals that control our thinking. Problems that other people seem to just glide through effortlessly, seem to be huge or unacceptable to those who are depressed.

Medications can be temporarily helpful for those who are depressed. Often, anti-depressants can make you feel better, to the point that you remember (and like) the feelings of joy and happiness. (When your depressed, we often forget what it feels like to be happy). As you relearn how to react to things in a better way, you can sometimes come off of medication. Sometimes it is a lifetime thing. Therapy usually helps if you find a good counselor. Try finding a counselor. Ask you doctor or call your local hospital, community health center, community mental health center and ask for referrals to a counselor. Many times they base what you pay on what you earn.

  2. of course it could be the cause just get some anti-deppresants (perscribed :) )
