I have a ibook with very little memory on the hard drive so i have none of my music backed up...so i really hope it is not broken. When I plug it into the Mac, itunes opens, and all of my music and videos are there and working. But when I safely eject it, the music and video are still there, but they do not work at all. If I try to watch a video- i get only a black screen. try to play a song-nothing. what should i do?

  1. The most likely answer to your problem is that the file types for the videos and songs is not compatible with your iPod.

The reason it would be able to play on your computer is that computers tend to be able to support most file types, whereas mp3 players usually only support around 3 music file types and 3 video file types.

Alternatively, the problem could be that your iPod is having hardware malfunctions, meaning you may need to get it repaired.

    Hope this helps :)

  2. You should do one of two things:

-Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at the Apple Store and they will advise you what to do.

-Call 1-800-MY-APPLE (692-7753) And they will advise you on what to do.

The cool thing is that if it is broken, they will help you back up your music so you don't lose anything.

I've never really heard of that happening. But professionals should know what to do.

    Good Luck :D

    Hope it Helps
