ok i have a sound system running off a kac-9102d amplifier, with two 12" audiobahns some where above 140db. well the amp used to over heat all the time and shut off, and finally i got it to do it less and less until yesterday when it shut off, from my expierence a fried amp normally turns on goes thump thump and shuts off and thats exactly what mines doing.

well i need to fix the amp, i have it completley dis assembled and im not seeing and problems at all.

  1. ZUnhook your subs from the terminals, so there is no wire going into the amp. I wanted you to unhook your subs because if you have any frayed speaker wire across your terminals, it will short it out, and if your fuse is blown, sometimes a strong remote will still make it turn on but shut off immediately.

Check your ground to see if it came loose from the metal, and check your fuse. Just because your fuse appears to not be blown, doesn't mean it isn't blown, especially if it is a tube (bulb) style fuse.

If all these meet up to standard, then you have a problem with your amp and you need to get a new one.

    Good luck

    -Cheers!
