  1. Its playing with you.Its very active at that age and thinks your hands a toy, trow it some toys..feathers..pom-poms watever you have oh and you can run a string on the ground and have it catch it.just dont let it play with your hands or it moght even when its older!(i acctually have kittens right now my 4th litter need anymore help ask me)

  2. Your kitten is just trying to get attention. Kittens are like kids, they need to be entertained.

It will last about a year, so I think the best thing to do would be to get it a couple of toys. Little plastic mice are always good, and anything that rattles. When it's bored, instead of focusing all it's attention on you, it'll have other things to keep it occupied. Scratching posts are a great investment for kittens too. They love them and they can have fun with them for hours on end.

Whatever you do though, DONT declaw it. A couple of people have suggested that, but they probably dont know that it's a brutal and painful process that's unecessary. Cat's need claws like dogs need to bark and like we need our fingers. They're not like fingernails. Claws are an extension of their actual bones and they have nerves in them.

Just be patient, give your kitten attention and love and all will be good again. But one thing's for sure, your kitten is definitely not trying to kill you and it doesnt hate you. It just wants you to play!

  3. Cats are inherently predatory animals, so playing is just a form of practice for them when they are younger. They are not trying to kill you - they probably love you.

In fact, a small bite is the cat's idea of a kiss.

  4. dont worry at all.

my cat is an adult and he does that all the time.

if you dont try to pull away it will stop and then slowly pull away.

  5. Most kittens bite and scratch---that's a way that they play. BUT, when I got my cat, she was 3 months old---she has never bitten or scratched anyone in her life (including, little babies and kids that pull on her tail and body). She is now 10 1/2 years old, and loves the kids so much that she comes into the room where they play, and lay down so that they can mess with her.

But, she is one of the rare cats that no matter what is done to her, she won't bite or scratch. She is the best cat ever because she didn't have to have training to learn not to do that! :)

  6. its a kitten.

    its still little.

    its just playing.

    but be strict & stern.

you dont want it to grow up to be a mean cat.

  7. The kitten doesn't know that hurts.  He/she is just playing.  When he/she starts to bite you, pull her away and shout NO!

  8. its just playing so yell at it and bite it back not hard to show that you dont like it and it wont like it either so it will stop

  9. its a cat..it hates everyone. If it were as big as us, they would kill us.

  10. LOL its normal my cat does the same thing!!! most kittens are like that. they are babies, they're just playing. they grow out of it

  11. i have the same problem, but i know your answer, i have a orange tabby cat named mittens, he is a monster, i walk into the garage (he lives there) and he bites me, scratches me, and taunts me. Your cat is normal, cats descend from tigers and lions, they are basically mini playful house-bred tigers, its in their nature to prowl and attack, your cat is just showing you love and devotion by playing with you.

  12. Yes! Your kitten is trying to kill you! Sometimes a kitten or a cat will take a good look at us and realize how much bigger we are than them. It freeks them out and they go on the defensive cat mode. You have to learn how to judge your cat's mood. Here's a clue: if the tip of their tail is going flip, flip, flip, you have about ten seconds to seek a place of safety I would suggest the interior room of your house, I would not suggest running outside, as your kitten will take that as a sign of victory and increase it's aggressive behavior, perhaps locking you out. Also, when your cat is in attack mode, try to remain as calm as possible, displays of fear such as screaming for help and running away will only encourage more of the hunting behavior which set this all off in the first place. It is very had to ignore a cat attack especially when it's directed at tender parts of you, such as toes. But the less you react and the calmer you can  be the sooner your kitty will tire of trying to kill you  and want to cuddle.  Good Luck! Moth

  13. Well There Are Probably Times When It Thinks It Is Playing, But Really It's Hurting You. I Would Tell A Veternarian, Get Him Declawed, And Ask Him About The Biting.

  14. kittens are playful, no worries if its a regular cat it will get older and do nothing but eat, sleep, and p**p.  =-D

  15. no kittens just love to play, and thats their way of having a good time. dont worry as your cat gets older he will get less hyper and will stop scratching.

  16. um... it depends if the cat iz a new born itz all right :) it just needs 2 get 2 know u better if itz an old cat get rid of it

  17. No, it's just a playful, energetic cat. Cats calm down over time as they mature, but don't be surprised if it swipes at your hand every now and then.

  18. Its probly looking for attection and playing with you.

  19. Your kitten is playing.  The kitten I adopted does the same thing.  When I slept in the same room as him for the first few nights, I would be woken up by him attacking my legs.

Anyways, you need to get your kitten to stop.  It's cute right now, but once it gets older and can do some real damage, it won't be so cute.  Next time your kitten tries to bite and scratch your hand, just say in a loud, stern voice "NO."  This works for my kitten, he'll usually stop, l**k my hand a few times and then move on.  Other times he'll try to start up again, but as long as you're stern with saying "NO" you should be okay.

If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to use some sort of deterent, like rattling a can full of pennies or spraying it with some water everytime it tries to scratch you.  Eventually it'll take the hint.

  20. its just playful, at times... they appear to desire you dead, but they are just really hungry.... playful... or bored.... they will even try to trip you time to time.

  21. I know what you mean

Once my cat had lots of energy and I was going to bedroom and sudden;ly out of nowhere she came up and started to Hiss and her ears went back and she got into position to attack and I was so scared and I slowly backed away lol

    I love my cat:D

  22. Lol you cat love you that's how he are she play some cats love to play  like that trust me its normal the cat love u alot

  23. As long as there is no hissing involved when it does this, it's just playing. We've had numerous amounts of kittens throughout our lives and they have all been like that. With each other, with other animals (cat or not), and with us.

It could also be that this kitten came from an aggressive family, human or feline. As long as you don't play completely into it and make the kitten even more attack-worthy, it will grow out of it.

  24. Nopee.... They do that... it can last a long time.. i wake up in the middle of the night to my 1 year old cat biting me trying to play.

  25. Its a cat..They do this. Let her know who is boss. And she will learn how to be nice.

  26. no it just likes to play thats wat kittens do they play all day and just pass out! it will subside after a while tho

  27. Kittens don't like to be handled very much.Cats on the whole are fairly independent creatures. If you want something to play with, get a doll.

  28. This is how kittens play - if you've ever seen 2 kittens play together, it gets pretty rough and there's meowing in pain and fur flies around. In my experience, kittens who have another kitten to play with are usually gentler with people, not sure why that is. Trimming the nails can help get though this stage, but the teeth need to stay!

  29. It may be trying to find out who will be the boss, you or him. But usually they are playful and aggresive as kittens, especially at night.

  30. probably just playing or trying to dominate you

  31. no its just playing but i always have suspected cats are a bit evil but dont worry it loves you really
