Question:

Is my leopard gecko sick?

She has been acting funny. She wags her tail, then acts like she's stalking her food when there's nothing there. My mom tried touching her and she usually has a content and loving nature but the gecko snapped at her. Her front "hands" have been shaking and she looks very stressed and in pain. I have had her for 1 1/2 years and got her when she was about three inches long. Now she's about 8 inches long. She is the only gecko I've ever had and I'm wondering if she's laying infertile eggs. What do female geckos usually act like when they're trying to lay? Please help!!!

  1. She may be under stress or too hot... theres a long list try try making it a little more humid by misting the cage she seems like she may be acting like shes laying you should wait a couple days and look for some eggs

  2. if she is you should be able to see the eggs. flip her upside down and look. you will see two buldges one one each said and you can kinda see throught the skin..

She may just be cold/hot.. bad cricket.. never know

  3. Does she have unshed skin on her front toes?  This is a common problem and can be painful.  Do you have a humid hide box she can go in at all times?  This will help with any shedding problems.  Is she still eating?  What are your UTH temps?  Really need more info...You can hold a light up to the abdomen and see the 2 eggs easily.  More info on health here:
