Question:

Is my license going to get suspended if I get my tickets dropped?

I have three tickets. I live in WA. Two of which I should not have received and one where I actually should have received.

1- Negligent driving 2nd degree- I have a lawyer for this one, because the cop believed I was racing with the souped up car next to me, in reality, I was just going around the turn but because they were going faster then me, they got pulled over.. but i stayed on the side of the road, and five minutes later i got a ticket too. Tough luck, and bad decision, i know!

2nd- ALMOST three months later, I was driving safely but I got a ticket for "failure to stop at a stop sign" or something like that. I literally got pulled over an was thinking one of my tail lights were out. BUT NO! he believed I didn't stop and the last thing he said was "sorry." I was pissed.

3- I was driving my friend home and they were going to get into trouble. I got a speeding ticket for going 82 on a 60 on a freeway. This one I should have got, so i'm not going to fight it.

I contested to the first two. But i'm going to go in and try to explain myself for the last one.

Now, my question is. If i get my tickets dropped, will my license get suspended? Is it unlikely? & Will this show up on my drivers record when I go to court for the first one?

My first court date is late september. and i'm guessing my second one is going to be in late december. and third one may get in at october because it's a different court.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

  1. If you are not convicted (tickets dropped or otherwise) you will not get points and therefore will not get suspended.  The speeding ticket you admit to will probably be 2 or 3 points, which if it's the only ticket on your record usually isn't enough to get suspended (in my state, 6 points is when they can start suspending your license, or for failure to appear in court).  Also, if the tickets are dismissed (if you are not convicted) , they will not show up in a driver's license history.

  2. The best way to know is to order your driver record and see if the tickets are on there.  I ordered my driver record from texasdrivingsite.com for $20 and recieved it in about a week.  You can pay extra to have it sent quicker.

  3. You still have plenty of time to learn about what to do in court to get your tickets dismissed and penalty removed or reduced. You could win on a technicality, like an error, omission, etc. See the blog spot below for details on what to do in the court to minimize the damage.
