  1. Your time could be better, and at your times and age, its possible to improve your time greatly, and rapidly with good training. Im 13 and run a 5minute flat mile. I'd say practice over the summer and set a goal. Id say for u, 5.45. then when u beat that time,u set a new goal, say 5.36. By the end of the summer, try to get 5.20 or below. Then in highschool, the coaches will woop ur butt into shape. Then u will be good. Probly the competing times to get on the team is 5.15 and below and i very well believe u can do that.

Good luck n i hope u make the team!

  2. just wanted to tell you that I'm a Freshmen in high school about 6'2 and 130 and my times for the season were about 5:10 - 5:15 you should try joining the XC team, it helped me.

  3. id say thats good cause im in 8 th grade to and that beats my whole trackteam and my team is pretty spiffy

  4. You need improvement. I am also your age and run a 5:35 mile, and on Varsity. My friend also our age can run a 5:01. If you want to be in the better heats, you need to get your time below 5:45 as a freshman. I suggest doing speed intervals, 2 miles of sprinting 100m, jogging 100m. Just keep practicing, set your goal and go for it.

  5. well im in track now, and a good time would be between 4:50 and 5:20... you've  got some time to improve on your time between now and next season,  thought, so just keep on practicing.

  6. it depends what school you go to

5:56 is good in my opinion but it depends who your comparing it to

i have a freshman cousin who runs 5:06 and he's nuts about track but there are kids on his team who run in the 7's so .....yeah

  7. i say that is a great time!!!! if you work on it over the summer you could go far in highschool! :)

  8. that's actually pretty good!! =)

team quzlifications differ from schools, I'm sure, but perhaps aim for something around a 5:20. thats really good! just pace yourself and keep it up!! you have a while until next year, so practice hard! =)

    good luck!
