I read C. S. Scotkins question, and this ran through my mind, so I wrote it. Have fun with it.
Solar Sails
We like to visit on the Earth,
Green trees are quite a change.
On Mars it's all just dust and rock,
The cows can't graze our range.
If we tell tales of feats so great,
But left out all the bad,
It's all because we don't want you,
To think that we're all bad.
We squandered all the land we had,
The green all went away,
The air got thin and stayed like that,
Until this very day.
We built our cities in the ground,
From pure necessity,
And with your lenses so well made,
Our culture you can't see.
We wait for those who wish to come,
And build their crystal domes.
We'll share with them that which we've learned,
And help them make their homes.
So when we visit, treat us well,
And listen to our tales.
We'll teach you how to get to Mars,
In ships with solar sails.
