My mum is a fit healthy woman of 65 who is still working. Over the past year she has been adamant that things in her house have been moved around. She says she goes to bed as normal and when she wakes up things aren't where she left them. Things like yesterday she dyed her hair, she says she put the packaging in the bin. When she got up this morning it was strategically placed in the bath! She hadn't even done her hair in the bathroom. This is just an example of many similar events. She is really spooked and thinks it's supernatural! As a hard headed cynic I find this hard to believe. Is she loosing it?

  1. shes just paranoid

  2. First, you might give her some credit. Is she getting in trouble at work? Because if she had dementia she would be unable to maintain a job. Is she complaining about getting reprimanded for doing things incorrectly or forgetting things? If she isn't, it wouldn't make sense that she would only be showing signs at home. If she is forgetting where she is placing things, SO What! Everyone has 'senior moments' at some point. I live in a house with geniuses and every single one of them is forgetful. I am constantly finding the milk in the kitchen cupboard and that sort of thing. It doesn't even bother me anymore. They are brilliant lovely people who will do good things in the world.

Now, that having been said, I must add this. I have known some very interesting people in my time. Indian saints that could perform miracles and heal people and bilocate. One of the signs of a person changing and getting telekinesis is that they move things around in their sleep. I remember one woman in particular who thought she had a poltergeist who was haunting her. Things were getting ripped off of the walls at night and the oven would turn on while she was sleeping and she'd even short electricity out in appliances and such. Things would disappear in one place and show up someplace strange. Later someone told her that she did not have a poltergeist but had telekinesis. She did learn to do some very interesting things after that.

    I guess it's a whole new world.

  3. Could someone be playing tricks on her?  Dementia is a scary diagnosis, take her to the doctor for a check up and make sure everything is ok...it may just be a vitamin deficiency causing the problem or a chemical imbalance causing the problem.

  4. Maybe she sleep-walks and moves things?

I really have no idea and no medical background. But I do know that when someone sleep-walks they may or may not remember it. I used to sleep-walk. I'd wake up in the living room when I had gone to bed in my own room, a whole flight of stairs up from the living room.

  5. What? If you think that doesnt happen, think again.  You need to read Revelation 12 where Satan and his demons had been cast out of heaven and are here on the earth causing havoc to all humankind.  I am not saying that there couldn't be anything wrong with your mom because it could be, but you also need to look at the possibility that she may have something going on in her house too. Whatever she has bought recently from a yardsale or used place she needs to get rid of it. Nine out of ten this can be the cause of it.

  6. Maybe, maybe not. It's weird for her to only be experiencing forgetfulness regarding placement of household items. Does she walk into a room and forget what she was doing, things like that? I would try hiding a camera or two - it doesn't have to be anything expensive. Web cams or something like that. Just to be able to watch the place and her. If the problem is more generalized, I'd get her to a doctor. It could be something as simple as blood pressure, or she could've had a mini-stroke. There are a lot of problems that can cause memory loss. But I'd be really curious to see exactly what is going on. Maybe even sleepwalking.
