  1. Watched the video.  Hard to understand the song, could not hear the singing well enough.  Got nothing out of it as I concentrated on what the person was singing and couldn't hear it.  The music was loud enough, the view moved around too quick and was not always clear.  Good luck, we all have to start somewhere, and you have taken the biggest step, the first one!!  I'm not anyone that would know much about videography, so this may not help you, I just like music so I went to listen to yours!

  2. i think you are suffering from a lack of angles from the shoot itself. it could have done with far more variety (and frankly, i only watched a small amount before switching off because of this).

unfortunately people are easily distracted and having limited shots are a sure fire way of switching people off. sorry to sound harsh but it's the truth.

a live concert will be difficult to make interesting unless you DI from the front of house mixing desk. i would recommend making a music video outside the 'live' setting.

have your pre-recorded song on a loud playback unit and set up your band for a shoot. play without sound miming to the track and have your drummer avoid hitting too loud. (limited wide shots showing the drums play in the BG is good). closer shots of the drummer are needed (as is all other instruments)  but do them in one session and dampen th sound with tea-towells or rubber pads for the wide shots.

usually movies shoot a ratio of 10:1 meaning 10 mins of c**p equals 1 min of good stuff. music video's are more likely to need 100:1 so shoot a few hours of tape to get all th coverage you need. there are no more rules anymore when it comes to clips so be creative and move the camera anyway you like (as long as its interesting)

good luck, i hope it helps.

  3. Considering that you are using Windows Movie Maker and you only have one camera, it is pretty good. And far better than most noob bands would expect. Youtube rocks.

    Rock on.
