I bought a mini fridge yesterday it has been plugged in for about 14 hours now, and it wont get cold. I've noticed it sounds like it comes on then makes a clicking noise about 5 seconds later and turns off.

  1. Return it, it is defective.

  2. The clicking noise is the compressor trying to start and cutting out in external overload because it won't start and is pulled too many amps and overheating.

    TAKE HER BACK.SHE'S DEFECTIVE.

  3. You didn't say if it was new or used.  If used than make sure there is no dust. lint, or such on the coils. (back & bottom). Assure that the thermostat is turned down to a "cold" setting. Sometimes there are two if you have a small freezer unit. Assure the unit is level. It doesn't have to be perfect but at least close. You unscrew the appropriate legs on the bottom until unit is level. If you don't have a level than you can use a glass of water. Set it on top and sight for level.  If none of these resolve your problem and it is new. Return it. Good Luck!
