Is my pierced ear infected?

I had my ears pierced beginning of the summer. After like a month I changed from the star earrings I had to silver hearts. At first it was good but then my hair kept getting caught underneath my left earring and then it sore and swollen. I thought it was infected so I took it out so it can heal and I can repierce it.

I still have my right earring and I changed the earring a few days ago, and now it's swollen and sore too. It's not crusty or red or has pus coming out, but it's annoying because everytime I change an earring it gets swollen and hurts. I already put back my first earring in, but is it infected? Should I take it out?

  1. Probbly but i son't no

  2. you probably like me have sensitive ears and anything other than stainless steel or sterling silver or real gold will irritate them. luckily even cheap places like claires carrys earings for sensitive ears. they even have their racks color-coded. make sure you clean them and don't even look at earings at the store that aren't made for sensitive ears. i have to relearn my lesson every time i fall in love with some earings at a trendy store ya know & yes they are infected.

  3. It might be that your allergic to fancy or fake earrings just like my sister.Every-time she uses some fancy or fake earring her ears get swollen and when she uses gold earrings or anti-allergic earrings there's no reaction, her ears are just fine.

  4. Hunn i thinks its just you changed your earings to quickly and your other earings needed to adjust before changing!!!!! And another reason is because some peoples ear cant stand fake jewlery!!!!! So what i would do is clean it out and wait till the redness goes down and put your first original earings in!!!!!

        P.S. Hoped i helped

  5. You shouldn't take them out at all. You should've listened to the person who pierced them. You should atleast waited 7-9 weeks before switching it. Don't worry about it getting red and swollen.. its normal. Sure, they will be sore but you have to suck it up and deal with it. By taking them out you are just wasting your money to get it repierced again and again.

  6. Are you sure you're not allergic to nickel? The first thing I would do is go to the store and buy some good earrings for sensitive ears. Keep the earring in so the hole doesn't close, but clean it at least twice a day with a mixture of half peroxide and half water. If the earring still hurts after 4 or 5 days, you may want to consider taking it out.

Don't wear any hoops or dangly earrings...that'll only hurt it more.

  7. Im hoping you did not change your earring before it properly healed...
