Question:

Is my plant dying? (Help, please - it's the only piece of green in this place)?

I don't know what kind it is, or how long it's been in it's current pot (I inherited it from my predecessor)...

It's not a flowering plant. The plant is vine-like, with spade-shaped leaves on long stems sparsely coming off of the vines. The leaves are almost a plastic looking, fake green. There's one vine lying outside the pot.

There's more and more yellow streaks on leaves, and some brown-ish tips. Shriveled, brown leaves will pop up once a week... I've moved it by the window to get a little more natural light. I'm trying various watering schedules and amounts, but nothing seems to help. (My thumb is definitely not green, but I can usually keep plants alive once you get me started.)

I would really appreciate any suggestions on what to do. I'm at a loss... Do you think it needs to be repotted, maybe? How would I know?

  1. You can try to take another pot. Is it a plant which needs a lot of water or just a little bit? But maybe the plant is just an old plant?

  2. re-pot the plant, put a little beer in your water or dirty dish water, soap included when you water it, it will keep the soil loose. take the plant to a green house find out what it is and what type of light it needs to stay heathy. most plants can be saved if there still growing or hanging on to life, you can do this.
