Is my puppy copying her mother?

i have a 10 week old golden retriever called keeva. when i was giving her mam some cheese, i was asking for her paw and keeva kept looking at her paw. then i did it again and gave her a piece of cheese. i tried it with keeva and she gave me her paw. now if she is on her own she wont do it. was she copying her mother. i tried it several times on her own and she wouldnt do it, but after she saw her mother doing it, she did it

  1. it is very possible that she is copying her mother. golden retrievers  are very smart dogs!  


  2. well.....yeah. thats what most animals do, humans included. its how we learn to do almost everything. and cheese isn't that great for dogs and your teaching them to crave human food which is normally bad for them in general.  

  3. Of course. All baby animals learn from their mother.House pets work this way& animals In the wild, even humans work that way.
