Question:

Is my rabbit going hop?

I have two rabbits. They are opposite sexes. The mom rabbit just had a baby. It's going to be five weeks old this Thursday. I was told I could give it away when it's 6 weeks old. Is this true? When can I give it away? The mom rabbit is a Polish-Holland and the dad rabbit is a Holland Lop. They are both a year old. The problem is the baby can't even hop, yet. I just see the baby dragging its feet all the time. When is it going to hop? Is it ever going to hop? Is there anyway I can help it? What do I if it's never going to hop? Thank you, in advance, for help.

  2. You can potentially give them away at 6 weeks old but, I wouldn't advise it. Although they should be eating by themselves at that age, they are still dependant on their mothers and sometimes still go to her to feed.

He should be moving around fine by now and should not be dragging his legs. They should be able to hop around from a very young age. It's probably wise to take it to the vet incase there's anything wrong with its back legs.

  3. Yes. you can give your bunny away at 6 weeks, but preferably to a rabbit-savvy owner. There's definitely something wrong with the baby's leg, and the treatment is *VET*!! Honestly, bunnies should be able to hop around at 6 weeks.
