  1. I would say he sounds sick.  Take him to the vet asap to find out what's wrong and to get some medication.  The sooner you go the better.  I hope he feels better!

  2. I don't think sooo,,,,,,,,, get him to the vet soon

  3. Don't wait for it to die.Bring it to the vet!

  4. This could be several things:

    1) a health problem

    2) Nose bleed could be poryphrin. Poryphrin is red and it's very common for rats to excrete it every so often.

As far as the dhiarrea, too many fruits and veggies will cause watery stools. The fruits and veggies are loaded with water and are good for rats but in moderation.

If he has any discharge coming from his eyes, is weezing or sneezing than get him to a vet. For now, try changing the amount of treats you give him.

Edit: If there is blood FLOWING from his nose then take him to a VET, NOW.

  5. Maybe he got salmonela from a bad tomato. Take it to the vet.

  6. Tomatoes are natural laxatives so that's probably not helping your guy out.  The nose bleed is most likely not blood but this red secretion rats sometimes have around their noses and eyes when they are stressed (could be due to environment or to physical illness, etc)

Cut back on the tomatoes and other vegetables and feed him cereals and lab blocks.

You can always call up the vet and ask for advice regarding whether you should bring him in right away or wait a few days.

    Hope that helps!

  7. The nosebleed is probably not actually blood, but porphyrin, which rats secrete when they're stressed. If he has diarrhea he can easily become very dehydrated. How long has he had it? That can be quite serious in rats, so you should take him as soon as you can.

Is his sleeping abnormal now, or has he always slept a lot? I'm wondering if it's the watery vegetables that are giving him the diarrhea.. but if he's also lethargic, that wouldn't likely be the problem.

Give him oats, and don't give him watery vegetables anymore (as long as he's sick, I mean). These may be the cause. Some give their pets a bit of pedialyte in their water when they have diarrhea, although I wouldn't recommend you doing this without consulting your vet first.
