Is my red-ear slider turtle dead???

Question

My turtle's back end is on the ground but the front end is floating up, and his head is tucked in eyes closed and front legs are tucked in! IDK what is wrong with him! Is he dead? Is he hibernating? PLEASE HELP!!

If your turtle was dead all limbs would be extended and floating limply in the water. Turtles do sleep, often floating in the water. Do you have a UV light on your tank, if not, get one, they need the vitamin D in sunlight to help them digest calcium, which is crucial to shell developement. It will also raise the temp of your tank a few degrees, encouraging your turtle to become more active.

well if hes not moving hes dead

If you poke him and he doesn't move than he might be dead. My turtle hibernates and goes into deep sleeps and she moves if i poke her.

if he is not movn then he is dead so pick him up and see what he does but if so then you should have a funeral and bury  him in the back yard. and buy a knew
