I always feel like my school is, like, too strict. Is it just me or is it normal?

They give out Disciplinary Marks for doing the following:

-Running In Halls

-Not doing homework

-Talking during class

-Not applauding during assembly

-Not creating a welcoming environment for a guest

-Disobeying the dress code

Detentions for the following:

-Cursing/Cussing

-Talking back to the teacher

-Cell phone

-3 DM's

-Eating in class

-Food in the locker room

They give suspensions for the following:

-3 detentions

-Cheating on anything (including copying homework)

-Cursing at the teacher

-Plagiarism

-Walking home from school (at the end of the day)

-Driving to my school's campus without a school permit signed by the head mistress

Expulsions

-Fire arms, drugs, etc.. (the basics)

-3 suspensions

-Getting a "C+" average in any subject or lower

REQUIRED ACTIVITIES:

-3 sports

-3 languages (not including english)

-100+ hours of community service

-Presidential on presidential fitness test (or you must retake if you get anything below that)

Then it's all girls and we need to wear a uniform!!! At the dances with our brother school we're not even allowed to wear a tank top or miniskirt!!!!!!!

Is my school like normal in it's strictness or what?

  1. WOW~

    thats crazyyy.

that sucks for you. but all the activities will help you get into college and the grade thing too  i guess. but theyre pretty strict.

    lol im still in shock

  2. That is totally ridiculous! Those rules are soooo unnesesary!

  3. Most of those rules apply to most middle and high schools.  They are trying to keep it a safe learning environment while also shaping young adults.

  4. It's a private school??? It's COMPLETELY normal for a "private" school. Trust me, I've been to worse "private" schools.... compared to them, you are in heaven.

But if you were going to a co-ed public school, that wouldn't be normal.

  5. You must to go to private school.

Some of those things are normal--most of the disciplinary mark things (but not applauding?? what's up with that??) are normal. Expulsion for below a C--part of going to a private school.

For a private school it sounds about right; it would be strict for a public school.

  6. jeez. i would shoot myself. agh.

good luck sister, and i would get outta there soon as possible [:

    **take care!

  7. They give out Disciplinary Marks for doing the following:

    LOL thats ridiculous!

They give suspensions for the following:

    -3 detentions

-Cheating on anything (including copying homework)

-Walking home from school (at the end of the day)

Everyone in my school would be suspended

    Expulsions

-Getting a "C+" average in any subject or lower

    I would be in troubleee

    REQUIRED ACTIVITIES:

    -3 sports

    -3 languages (not including english)

    -100+ hours of community service

-Presidential on presidential fitness test (or you must retake if you get anything below that)

    ALL of that is STUPID

    I feel sorry for you.

  8. wow, thats strict. at my school someone brought a knife and drugs and just got a 1wk suspension. they were pretty leniant. someone got suspended 9 times in one year, 4 times from bringing drugs. well, eah,its kinda weird....

  9. That is just ridiculous. I think you should right a very persuasive letter to the head mistress or something. some of those thing I can understand but most of them ar just STUPID!!!!! I say you need to get out of  there or get a group of friends and take a stand. Like are you serious you can't walk home after school...school is finished yo should be able to do what ever you want and 100+ community service hours now that's ridiculous. At my school its 40+ hours{even though I'm probably going to end up doing 100+ but  thats really extrem}.What gread are you in?  Your school is WAY to strict hun.

  10. Most schools have all of those rules, but are enforced less strictly. 'Walking home at the end of the day' is stupid. Even if something happens to you, the school can't get sued. They aren't responsible for you anymore after the last bell rings unless you're on school property.

Your required activities are insane, I don't believe they serve for any purpose. 4 languages(including English) for children your age? Who are they trying to impress? I think people should be able to speak 2 languages fluently, and that's good enough (I speak 3).

For a private school, those rules are normal, but the added rules such as required activities and a few of the other rules are unnecessary, even for a private school. Here private schools focus on strictly academics, and not little nonsenses such as '3 sports'. After school activities help get into colleges/universities, but 3 shouldn't be required. Some kids just aren't athletic.

  11. thats quite an unusual school...

....yu shud move to another or create a petiton on changing your school rules

  12. If you are from the USA, then I don't know, but you dont sound brit to me :) Anywhow, in the UK, we have to wear uniform to school, and we get detentions for those kind of things too. Your school is just pretty much normal, and is trying to encourage good behaviour, by discouraging the bad.

    DOn't worry, I hate school. A lot.

  13. yessiry!!! some of those rules and required activities are just silly...

  14. wow... and i thought my school was strict.

    your school sounds REALLY strict

  15. Some of those rules are normal but some are weird.

    ex.not clapping after performance

         walking home from school

C + average (I'm sure a lot of students out there would be kicked out if that was a rule in some schools.)

  16. wow i thought my school was strict

why cant you walk home? that's just stupid

    your school is super strict

  17. hmm well i believe that it is strict in a way.

but thats how schools are and their always gonna have rules that were not gona like but you hav to deal with it.

  18. Getting a "C+" average in any subject or lower and walking home at the end of the day? OMG WHAT

  19. That is the strictest school i've ever heard of!

Yes i'm afraid your school is very strict.

    Move schools!

    Lmaoo

    XX

  20. it sounded like my school until i got to the suspensions bit!

jeez it's real strict at your school.

why do they suspend you for walking home at the end of the day?

  21. They give suspensions for the following:

    -3 detentions

[Well then pretty much everyone at my school would be suspended..]

-Walking home from school (at the end of the day)

    [That doesn't even make sense]

    Expulsions:

-Getting a "C+" average in any subject or lower

[?!?! if we had that rule at our school, there would be no students left to teach.]

But, I don't know much about private schools.. So maybe that's why alot of it seems strict to me.

  22. omg!!! dat school is crazy strict!!!3 sports , languages, and 100+ hours??? wow.

  23. haha and i thought my school was bad...

    this is beyond ridiculous

  24. Absolutely yes! Your school has the strictest rules that I have ever heard of! I am a high school student and my school keeps order while letting us have freedom. Some of those rules are standard for school such as cheating, cussing, talking back to a teacher, ect. However why would you get suspended from walking home from school? When I was in middle school I walked home because my house was very close and only took me about 5 minutes to walk home. And why are they making you do sports? Some people are not atletic and are not comfortable with team sports. I am sorry that you have to go to that school. If you feel strongly talk to you parents, guidance counselors, and if you are serious, even the principal. The rules at your school are the strictest that I have ever heard of! Schools these days...

By the way I have been to a private christian school and the rules were never that strict. I go to a public high school now though.

  25. Yea,I really wouldn't fit in at that school.

  26. MOVE SCHOOLS!!!!!

  27. That is slightly more strict than my school, which is a public school.

Some of the rules are a bit ridiculous, but I'm guessing it's a private school, so they would like to keep a high standard for behavior.

  28. whoa. that sucks. how tha h**l they gone give u suspension for walkin home at the end of tha day??? community schools?? wow thatz horrible gurl i would change my school. more than half of my school wouldnt follow half of those rules

  29. wow. that is really strict. c+ average? geez, that would not work at my school.
