Is my sister close to getting her period?

Question

You know cramps are a symptom for your period? My sis is ten years old. (don't girls sometimes get their period at an early age?)and she really wants her period. Sometimes she gets these piercing cramps when she needs to go to the bathroom. Is her period coming soon?

yeah, some girls can get it at that age.

it could be, but it could also be stomach problems.

it all depends on if she has other symptoms of puberty or not..

It should be coming i got mine at 11 right when i trned 11.

so she might but girls can get it at many diffrent ages.

No one can say exactly when a girl will get her first menstrual period, but usually girls will get it some time during puberty.

Some girls start puberty at age 9 or 10 where others may start as late as age 15 or 16. Each girl goes at her own pace. So don't think that it's a bad thing or that something is wrong if your friends start puberty a little earlier/later than you/your sister.

At the beginning of puberty, a girl will notice that her b*****s are developing and that the girl starts to grow a little hair under their arms. Hair also will grow on a girls genitals (pubic hair). In some girls, the time from the beginning of puberty to getting the first menstrual period may take only 6 months, where as for other girls, it may take longer and can take up to 3 years.  Another sign is vaginal discharge fluid (sort of like mucus) that a girl might see or feel on her underwear. This discharge usually begins about 6 months to a year before a girl gets her first period.

Every girl is different, and there is a wide range of normal development during puberty.

All I can say is that your sister should be patient, it will happen when her body is ready.

Ummm i would say yes. Even though it's an early age, it would either be really close or she will start in a good amount of time.
