  1. Check his basking temperature. Most likely his humidity is not high enough. There are several factors that can cause improper sheds.

    Temperature

    Humidity

    Stress

    mites

    etc.

Check him for mites, check in his heat pits first, mites like to congregate there. Then check his humidity. put a gauge in his habitat and make sure his humidity is adequate. BE sure his temps are good as well. any stress can cause this as well. Since you recently got him, he could still be adjusting to his new environment.

Don't freak out just yet. Wait a couple sheds. If he goes 2 more sheds and they are not complete, then I would be concerned. He is probobly stressed right now.

    Good Luck

  2. if it is a baby this may be the first time she or he is shedding and the first time is usually the hardest...you can mist the tank more than once a day....take him out and give him a luke warm water bath that should help...

also make sure you dont have any mites...mites look like pepper with legs...little tiny black dots that move .. check under the belly and around the eye sockets for bugs....if you do have mites....treat immediately ecspecially in baby snakes they can cause anemia and eventually death.

if you dont have mites just make sure you are keeping humidity levels high enough and make sure you have rocks or wood or something she can use to rub off any shed that is stuck....do not pull the shed off yourself...it will come off on its own. just be patient and keep the humidity high.
