Is my snowboard too small for me?

Hi,

I ride a 140 lib tech board. I am about 5 foot 7 - 170 cm and weigh 50 kg - 110 lbs.

I am a pretty intermediate rider and do rails and aerial tricks etc.

Is my board too small for me?

What size should I upgrade to next?

Thanks

  1. It is true that board is on the small end of the range for your size / weight, but you are light for your height and some people like riding a smaller board - especially in the park. I think that board is fine for now. If you put on 20lbs then you might need to get a bigger board as you will be pushing your edge through everything.

I ride powder and trees and I like a shorter board too - so I ended up getting a wider board for more float without having to go longer.

    Good Luck

  2. That length of board is probably the smallest you  would want to go. You could get a board around the 148-150 range, if you were to buy another one, but the board you are riding on no isn't too small for you.

  3. i would defiantly go up a couple centimeters.  If your still growing, i would suggest going with a 148-150cm board. If you are done growing maybe 146-148. somewhere in that range. Then again, 2 centimeters isn't going to make or break your day.

  4. You should try a board that comes up to about your chin. That way you dont push yourself to ride a big board.

  5. In general, a 140 is pretty small for your weight. I think that if you bumped up to just like a 144 you would find that you have way more stability and still a lot of control. anywhere between 144-147 should be ok for you.
