The cat slept on our bed last night and this morning I had my son in our bed and he started sneezing repeatedly with clear nasal discharge. he sneezed around 12-16 times. He has never had any issues with the cat before. Can you take a 14 month old to an allergist?

  1. Yes , we took my 6 month old to an allergist but unfortunealy they took blood (she was tested for about 30 things! -luckily only allergic to peniciln) anyway they took it from the arm so its rough - it took 3 people but yeah it is okay to bring them & im sure at 14 months its not as bad as 6 mo!!

  2. My son is allergic to cats.  He used to sneeze all the time and always have a clear runny nose.  Once we got rid of the cat it went away.  I took my son to the allergist when he was about 1, so yes you can.  They did prick testing on his back to see what he was allergic to.  They just prick his back with a little plastic thing and then put the allergen on each prick and wait to see which ones bubble up.  It didn't hurt him. He was fine with it.

  3. Yes.  You can take a child that young to an allergist.

There is a possibility that the cat walked through something if it is allowed out in the yard.

Better to keep the cat indoors.

There are special wipes available from pet stores for allergy suffers.

Wiping the cat will greatly reduce the dander that is responsible for causing allergic reactions.
