Just wondering if my son is progressing okay?

He can say all of the letters in the alphabet, but hasn't got them memorized. He can say A-F but that's it.

He can say his numbers to 10 but he only says 1, 2 and 3.

He can point out all of our family in pictures and say the majority of thier names/nicknames.

He talks in 3-4 word prases (there is is, there/here he/she is, where is it, I have it)

He says 30-40 words

He recognizes his name written down.

He'll clean up his room (Picks up toys and puts clothes in hamper) when I tell him to.

He knows which buttons on the remote are nickelodeon. lol

Idk.. I don't have any other kids in the family to judge by..he's the youngest by far.. is he progressing okay?

  1. seems like he is doin great babies take there time it's does not matter if he does what other kids do at 22 months ur son is who he is to be himself and my son is 4 years so it's been a while on the stages they say  ur kid should be at dont worry all he needs is love and ur teachin him alot already good work

  2. you've got nothing to worry about, it sounds like he's doing great :D

i work at a daycare and i've seen lots of kids the same age in various stages of development and as long as he is happy, healthy and continuing to learn, it looks like your raising a wonderful young boy.

and keep in mind, just repeating the alphabet and the numbers a couple times a day will help him get them down in no time.

  3. sounds fine to me

  4. He's doing better than okay.  At 22 mos. there are very few kids who can recite the alphabet at all or even recognize more than a couple of letters.  Give him time, he's doing very well.

  5. Each child is different. it all depends on them. but he seems to be about on que. I would not worry what others think. he is doing good.

  6. He sounds like he is doing very well!!

  7. Sounds to me like he's doing really well.  Definitely nothing to worry about!

  8. sounds fine to me all kids develop differently anyway.

You say he can count numbers to ten but then you say he can only count 1, 2 and 3 so how is that nunbers to ten? That's confusing. Same with alphabet. A-F is not all of the letters in the alphabet.

  9. absolutely right on track with my boy. My son is 23 months old has maybe ten more words in his vocab then your son does but thats it.

right now I am working on potty training because he seems very interested in going potty in the potty.

And he loves to say no! :)
