he is an exclusively breastfed baby he was 7lbs 9 oz when he was born and now he is 3 months old and weighs about 15lbs 5oz. I feed him about every 2-3 hours during the day and at night about every 4. Is this ok? People are always saying he's big and is quite overwhelming it makes me feel I am doing something wrong..please tell me if he is ok..

.....many of my friends have children and NONE of their infants each that often..

  2. yes your son is over weight. a healthy weight for a 3 month old baby would be any where from 9-11lbs. it sounds like your are feeding him too much. the baby should only eat 3 to 4 times a day. if you keep feeding him too much, he may gain weight very rapidly and may develop heart conditions.the average weight of an 12 month year old is 30lbs, at the rate your baby is gaining weight, he may be 50 or 60lbs when he is 12 months.
