  1. He maybe tired of the diaper feel on his bottom. I think two is a good age to start. You should get him some big boy undies and let him see the diffrence between the undie and diaper. I am sure he calls himself a big boy and tell him big boys wear underwear. That could be a way to convince him that he should try it since he is telling you under cover that he doesn't like diapers. I have learned when they go potty make a HUGE deal about it like clap your hands give HUGE hugs and what not becasue they love all that and once he gets into the habit of using the restroom he will be good to go.

  2. It sounds like he might be.  For readiness, you're looking for things like the ability to manage his clothes, to communicate his need to go to you, some dry periods that indicate his muscles can hold urine, and interest in the whole production.  You can always give it a try and if it turns out he wasn't ready, make another attempt later on.

  3. He might be a little young for potty training just yet.  We're just now starting and my youngest is 2.5 yrs old.  My oldest (now 4) went through a phase where he constantly took his diaper off.  It wouldn't hurt to TRY with your son, but don't get discouraged if he won't go.  GOOD LUCK!  In my experience, potty training has been the worst part of parenting. LOL

  4. I'd say he's ready lol. take him potty when you go, imagine he will take right to it. My son started just before two, he was fine urinating in the potty chair but was hesitant to have a bowel movement in one. That took a little longer...

When he does go, tell him how proud you are! do a little dance lol. good luck!

  5. no he's not too young both my daughter and nephew were potty trained at 1 and dry through the night by 18 months.

  6. He might be ready.  They usually will show interest in you going to the bathroom.  The only way to find out is to try.  Here's a trick that I used to help my little p**p on the potty, but you can use it for anything really.

Get some marbles and an empty shot glass. Fill the shot glass with marbles (so you know how many will fill it). Then empty the marbles into another small container. Tell your son that every time he goes to the potty, he will get to pick a marble and put it into the shot glass. When the shot glass is full (all the marbles are now in the shot glass again) your son will get to go with you to the store and pick out what ever "surprise" he wants...any toy. I took mine to Dollar Tree and it was a treat for him.

As for the pee aspect, have him run around naked from the waist down.  Give him a boundary as to where he can play and go.  You don't want to be cleaning pee from your carpets all day.  I have a large kitchen and that was the only place that both children were allowed - even the one that is already potty trained.  I placed washable throw rugs around the kitchen so that they can play.  If he wet them, they just went into the wash.  This was messy for a few days, but they get the hang of it soon enough.

I will tell you that my son did have a problem going to the potty when I introduced underwear.  Naked he was 100% trained, underwear - that was another training.  You can try it with underwear from the beginning, but you will have LOTS of wet underwear to wash.  Make sure you buy a few packs.

  7. sounds like it -get rid of the "potty chair" and buy a step stool so that he can reach the toilet.  make the bathroom child friendly and encourage its use.  NEVER punish.  his body may take a year or 2 to develop fully.
