Question:

Is my tooth pain just a dream?

I keep getting these dreams where my teeth feel like they don't fit together, and when I try to put them together they feel like they're going to break (I think they have in a few dreams). Sometimes if I open and close my mouth (I have no idea if I'm really doing this or if this is just in my dream) they feel like they fit again and it's more comfortable.

Is this pain only in my dream or am I actually setting my teeth together like this when I sleep?

I'm not asking for an interpretation.

  1. Haha so it's not just me who has teeth dreams? ;)

This can probably be of four different reasons that i can name.

    1) you're in pain with your teeth possibly. braces tightened etc.

    2) You're sleeping with your mouth in a weird position like, you're mouth is open or your biting down weird.

    3) It's possible you might be grinding on your teeth. That means exactly what it sounds like, when you sleep, you grind your teeth together and it wears down the white parts (enamal) on your teeth. You would know this if you taste some chalkyness when you wake up in the morning.

    4) or it's just a dream. I've had that where i was ripping off my braces and it hurt like h**l, i woke up totally fine :)

  2. Well i think that you might be clenching your jaw in your sleep, usually caused by stress, try if it helps to go to sleep with your mouth open and your jaw/ face not having pressure. If this dosent help and is causeing you discomfort try seeking help through other ways like dr's or somethin

    PEACE

  3. Kinda strange, my Mom and I were having dreams about our teeth, fallin out, pain, etc...  We both found out, we clench our teeth when we sleep, a sign of stress.

I had a "night guard" made for my upper teeth, no more problem, or nightmares.  A Good orthodontist can make you one, it's a great investment, I know many who have cracked teeth while sleeping.  You don't want that to happen.  Painful, and very expensive.  Wearing this also stops TMJ...
