  1. get the converter box anyway

it makes the picture so amazeing even without all the HD

  2. Basically, you only need the converter box if you use an aerial antenna, and your TV doesn't have a digital tuner that works in your area.  If you do get your signal from an antenna, you need to figure out if your TV has a digital tuner, and scan for digital channels if it does have.

  3. Most HD tube TVs don't have the proper tuner to get the digital TV signal....the ones that DO have a dash or dot button on the remote, right by the number buttons.....

So take a look at your remote.....find the dot or dash and you don't have to buy the digital to analog converter box.....

If you have cable or satellite, and you have their convertor boxes already,  those units do the conversion for you.....

  4. Simple, go through the manual of the TV. Definitely they mention everything in it.

  5. It is digital, all HDTVs are digital.  If your TV has a tuner built in you are all set.  If it's just an HDTV monitor you would need a tuner to receive the over the air signals.  But that is not the same device people with analog TVs are going to need.

  6. If it is HD it MUST be digital.

  7. All HDTV's are digital.

  8. The most accurate way to tell is to look at the manual or Google the model number.  If the TV says it has an "ATSC" tuner, it's digital receiver and does not need the box.

    I hope this helps.
