Is my turtle hurt?

Question

I accindently dropped my turtle when her tank was being cleaned. Now shes holding in her back-left foot and the front-left foot. I didnt see her fall on her side.Can you help me?

Although it would be best to take her to the vet, if she doesnt come out of her shell she might still be in shock... i wouldnt worry too much. We have a turtle and she puts in legs likie that. Its very random but sometimes turtles discover they are comfy like that. But just to be safe dont be picking up your turtle or messing with that. Just give it time. After all thats what they have there shell for

If it is a baby turtle it will be fine. The older they get the most weight they have to smash their limbs. I'd wait a couple of hours to do anything

i wouldn't worry too much. Just keep an eye on her for a while and if she still seems off take her to a vet. You might be just be looking for something to be wrong because of what happened. If she doesn't seem to be acting normal after a day or so then I would definitely call a vet, but turtles are pretty tough. Good luck!!!!

You need to take her to the vet. She could be seriously injured. She most likely has several broken bones.

She may be just afraid or something, because that side of her was hit, and shes trying to avoid it from happenning again (not that it will.... animal instincts :P)

Well she could have fractured her front legs so I would take her to the vet just to make sure shes ok.

Is her shell cracked at all?  Look real well?

She maybe real bruised.

It doesnt seem like shes hurt, however there a 99 % chance that your turtle has about 20 minutes to live, so yeah....shes gonna die, painfully, all because you dropped her.

Don't take a turtle to the vet. Jesus, you can get 10 turtles for the price you'll pay for just an office visit. Then you have to pay for surgery, chemotherapy, a colonoscopy, an e***a, or other crazy medical procedures.

Shes obviously fractured something. Check if its a strange color, such as, purple, or blue. If it is, it could be broken or bruised. If you dont see any color within 24 hours check where the sore spot is by rubbing her injured limbs. If it feels broken, take her to a herp vet as soon as possible. If it is broken, the vet will probabley tell you to sprinkle all her food with calcium powder to strenghten her bones. Do this anyways, even if the vet doesnt subscribe it.

PS: Dont let delock51's answer frighten you. This only happens if theyre bleeding to death. Your turtle isnt diseased, just physically hurt and he doesnt know how to care for a turtle, obviously.

I think turtles are fine, they usually land on their shell. When the are dropped or something else happens to that part of the body they tend to keep it protected from other things for a good part of the day or days.
