  1. no he is not mean at all. plus you should be excited about running that is conditioning and condiditoning makes some of the strongest teams like say your in the champ. game in a tourny and the other team is not well conditioned and you guys are then you will win becasue they will get tired. CONDITIONING IS A GIFT!!!!! Embrace it and love it and go all out everytime. we have to earn our right to condition like when we play games or split into two group to do a drill the winning team gets to condition becasue they earned it. One of my club coaches yelled at us 24/7 even if it was perfect he would find something to yell at us for and it made all of us better players but if you really have a problem with it talk to your coaches they dont want to scare you well sometimes they do but just talk it helps

  2. he just knows you all are better than that and expects the best

  3. Well I've had coaches like that....everyone has. All you have to do is stay positive! Try to motivate your team to practice at home.  The coach just got a little mad and accidentally got out of control.

  4. i just started volleyball this year,

and my coach only makes us run if we dont try.

i wouldn't say ur coach is mean just not fair.

  5. He's punishing you for not concentrating and working together as a team. Figures you'll get tired of running eventually and start concentrating and working to make sure you and everyone on your team gets this down.

  6. mayb its just hasnt been his week? or is he always like this, if he is, tell a parent or teacher or quit. you deserve better they need to make you better and yelling doesnt do anything for you just makes u scared.

  7. ugh not at all. running non stop is part of practice for us...its like we are good you only have to 8 sets of sudicide lines not 10...and we get yelled at sweared at...but you know what every player has gotten better. it could be a whole lot worse. and our punishments are at least as hard as football punishments...

  8. totally

  9. You know, no matter where you play, you're gonna find a coach like that.

My varsity coach makes us run suicides when the OTHER squads mess up.

If we miss one play during a game,  we run 3 basketball suicides and if anyone's late, we have to run three suicides for every minute.

I hate my practices and my coach sometimes, but you have to realize, they want whats best for the team and if running 20 sprints or suicides makes your team move to the ball and get your passes up, then thats what you'll have to do.

Oh and also, since conditioning has started, I've gained soooo much endurance. We run 3 miles at the start of every practice. It really helps in the end, trust me.

  10. There are different types of coaches. Those who are the mean type and some sober. You have to know your coach, he just maybe wants to have the best of his team, sometimes players need to be scolded to bring out the best in them.

  11. When the coach yells it's because he's frustrated that y'all can't do what he knows you can do. You get my drift? When they make you run it's for your own good. It toughens ya up.

  12. I share your problem. My coach ALWAYS yells, and it really upsets me. I always try my hardest, and yelling doesn't make it any easier to do so.

I really don't understand why coaches yell AT people, as it offends some, like me. One of the girls trying out yesterday got really ticked off and flipped the coach off when he wasn't watching. That's what screaming coaches make you do sometimes.

I hope your coach cools down, and that you get to have more fun at practices.

  13. nope you could prolly use some toughening up

  14. Your coach knows what it takes to build a winning team. I would say if your coach didn't yell at you HE isn't doing his job.

Coaches don't yell to scare you, but to get their message across.

Which sounds better ... come on girls let's move the ball around. talk to each other out there and get in position.

    or

COME ON GIRLS LET'S MOVE THE BALL AROUND. TALK TO EACH OTHER OUT THERE etc.

As a sports writer I have yet to hear a coach get his point across by talking normally.

  15. nah. thats not bad. it is scary though when they yell. my coach has even thrown his clip board at us. they just really get into it. they only get upset because they want you to get better. dont give up. have fun.

  16. NO HES JUST DOING HIS JOB, YOUR COACH IS TRYNA TEACH YOU!!!!  DONT BE SCARED, JUST BE STRAIGHT UP WITH YOUR TEACHER, BUT MAKE SURE YOU DONT GET HIM PISSED OR YOU WIL GET SUSPENED!!!!!!!!! SORI BOUT THE SPELLING MISTAKE!!!!!!!
