I have an empty spot in the bottom left part of my mouth that is really painful whenever i chew on that side. It only bothers me if food touches it though or if i try to feel it with my finger. Does that mean my wisdom tooth is coming in? By the way, I am 15

  1. Sounds like it.

You should probably tell your parents so they can get you in to see a dentist to see if you're going to have a problem.  It's better to nip it in the bud than let it come up, get an abscess, or shatter and cause you a lot of pain for no good reason.

  2. Your wisdom tooth is probably not going to come in soon but it is starting to move and that causes irritation to the gum and the sensation that you feel.  As the tooth moves further, you can get an infection called pericornitis that is painful and results from bacterial being caught between gum, wisdom tooth and molar back there.  Wisdom teeth are just a pain.  It is a good idea to go to the dentist and get a panoramic x-ray to evaluated this condition and see if they are ready to be extracted.

    Good luck!
