Is nameing a child Ryder a good idea?

Is it bad to name a boy Ryder.Im not sure if anyone would make fun of the name because you don't here it often.But I would like to name a child Ryder because I thought it was a cute name.

You know I really like it. Had our last name not been Peters I would have named our son Ryder! It is getting popular but I say if you like it use it.

Rider is a good boy name, but not Ryder Starr. I think Starr is a weird name for a human being, but if you like it, that's an ok girl name.

My opinion?  Wouldn't touch that name with a 39 and a half foot pole.  Starr's a last name, like Ringo.

Why?  In many countries, "riding" is slang for s*x...

Kate Hudson named her son Ryder. I think if u like a name, and it goes well with your last name, u should jus name your child whatever u want. No matter what people think.

Riding is slang for s*x in many countries including the UK, Australia, New Zealand, etc. so I personally would be avoiding Ryder. Plus it's not that original- it sounds like you're just copying Kate Hudson.

I'm not a fan of Starr either- who would take someone called Starr seriously as an adult?

Ryder is a cute name but he might get teased because of its association with s*x. Ryden is cute though.

I like the name Starlene for a girl, Star is a cute nickname. I could imagine a professional adult going buy the name Star though.

yup. ryder's a cool stame. and yes, it can go along with starr. lots of name are thought to weird by some but it really doesnt matter. i fact some names are what sets people apart. i cant really explain but there example. case in point. suri, fiona, apple. lots more. it really sets them apart. it gives them personality. therein lies strength. dont worry too much about the names. just try to see if this will realy suit them. enjoy it and have fun..goodluck

ummm i dont like ryder for a boy. starr, the girl would be made fun of for suree!! maybe use starr as a middle name. actually, a second middle name.

in example - sarah rose-starr. it isnt even worthy of being a middle name. it sounds better as a second.
