Question:

Is natural balance puppy food a good choice?

I recently bought my 12 week old cocker spaniel. And went to the vet last night because she has had diarrehea for the past few days and blood in her stool last night. It turns out that she has a parasite called giardia. She is now on medication and seems to be doing better after one night. Ok, now to the point, I bought her from a breeder who was feeding her pedigree puppy food. I heard that's horrible for dogs and so I bought her natural balance puppy food. Is that a good choice? I really want her to get healthy and not to have any more health problems down the road. Thanx!!! :)

  1. Natural Balance is a pretty good food, yes. MUCH better than Pedigree. You could still do better if you chose to though!

Examples of low quality foods to avoid: Anything you can find in a grocery store will be low end, Purina, Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet, Royal Canin, Pedigree, Kibbles n' Bits, Beneful, Ol'Roy.

Examples of high quality foods to look for: Innova, Wellness, Solid Gold, Canidae All Life Stages, Fromm Four Star, Merrick, GO Natural, Nature's Variety Prairie, Nature's Logic, Artemis Fresh Mix, Timber Wolf Organics.

  2. Are you giving her puppy food? You need to change over her diet gradually and give medicine the vet gave you. Good luck with you new pet!

  3. Yes, Natural Balance is much better than Pedigree.

  4. That is the brand i use.  My dog has alot alot alot of allergies and this is the best food that i can give him.  It doesnt have all of those fillers that other dogs use.  He is doing really well on it.

I didnt get him when he was a puppy (rescue dog).  But after i switched his food to natural balance i have a completly different, happy dog

    i hope this helps
