Is new matter created when humans & animals are born...?

...thereby adding to the weight of the earth? Is the earth gaining weight even if insignificantly?

  2. No. The food you eat is digested into the materials needed to build new cells, those cells become every part of a new body (or metabolized as energy ie. calories). Same for growth. That's why we eat. What you p**p is the parts that can't be processed into useful material.

  4. No; that would be contradicting the principle of the conservation of matter or mass.

    The birth of new creatures (human or animal) is simply a conversion of matter from one form to another.

  5. No, biology is a chain of transitions. Matter going from one configuration to another. In living form, fixing iron, burning oxygen, throwing off carbon dioxide... in death, separating back into minerals and reestablishing the nitrate balance in the soil. It's a beautiful machine... and in the end, if the second law of thermodynamics is as intractable as it seems, the aggragate truth is loss of heat.
