Autumn is a great time to visit Tassie, less crowds than the summer time so you are more likely to get a better deal with accommodation etc.

We normally have lots of sunshine, not much rain (contrary to popular belief!) and the landscape looks beautiful as all the deciduous trees turn gold.  

Sure it may be a little on the cooler side some days but it's actually quite refreshing, you may even see some snow!

Don't let the myths put you off!

It's probably a cheap enough time to go; accomodation is on sale, there are no major holidays and if you can get a cheap airfare thats good. The only thing is, it will be bitterly cold as we head toward winter. Summer is much better for most travellers.

Well the fares on the car ferry are certainly cheap enough at the moment with ads stating around $65 for a crossing.  I guess it would be cold in Tassy in May but then Autumn should be a beautiful time to see it.

Best time is in the summer-December/January when there are a lot of festivals and events. And it is a heap lot warmer.
