Question:

Is normal for my computer to act all weird after getting a Windows Update?

When i restarted (it told me to restart), it took an extra long time to boot up, and then small black windows kept opening and closing on the screen. Then you could hear my computer making strange sounds like it was installing stuff, or something.

Then I went to start up Messenger, and it said "Installing Messenger" and that took about 5 minutes.

After all that, I shut down and restarted, and now it's back to normal, but I'm just worried about what happened. Anyone know?

  2. Yes mine was "odd" for about a day before it went back to normal, its just that when you are doing your normal stuff, microsoft is getting all of your old settings and putting them into place, its just microsoft running in the background, it is normal and nothing to worry about, I would just say that don't try to add any new programs during this time of "weirdness" but other then that your comp will be fine.

  3. that is normal every time you update

  4. Yeah its fine, it was windows service pack 3. Its a big update

    mine done the same

  5. Yes, this was normal, as windows had to finish installing things that were downloaded during the update.
