Is not being photogenic being ugly?

thats weird...and is it an obligation that what you look like on the photo is what you look like in real life? i mean, am told to b cute and everything and i see myself in any mirror being pretty good looking but on photos... ugh...i hate that s.h.it lol

Thanks ppl for these words, to me I feel that I am a charming guy but I know pictures never capture me the right way. I recently got married and my wife (who is pretty) likes to take pictures but has recently stopped taking pictures with just the two of us. The other day (when we were having dinner) i bought out the camera to take a few pics and she felt hesitant at first then took a few pics with me but wasnt so enthusiastic.

Later she told me (trying to make me happy I guess?) that she told her friend that im not photogenic and when her friend saw a pic of me she told my wife that at first when my wife told her that im not photogenic, her freind immidiatyl assumed i was ugly but when she saw my pic, she was surprised to see I was good looking.

What I feel sad is that, my own wife doesnt have confidence in me in pictures and warns her friends before showing it to them. It tells me she doesnt want to be insulted by her friends? Has no confidence?

Some please give me an idea of my wifes view of me.
