Is not having a middle class society bad?

The middle class....literally supports the lower classes....

Without the tax base the middle class provides...the poor in society become destitute.....

The wealthy keep their money in off shore banks...find tax loop holes and in the end...keep most of their money....while some of the rich donate to charity....it doesn't mean that money goes to make the lives of the poor any easier....

yes. If you don't have a middle class, the poor wil attack the rich and it's going to turn into one big riot.

Its just worse.

Because the tax burden will be levied on the poor,hence chronic poverty and under development or to be more precise unbalanced development.

Yes, it is bad not to have a middle class society.  The reason is because the only real alternative is a two class society: the haves and the have nots, the ruling class and the peasant class.  If one recognizes that every man has his own ambitions and level of motivation, the best societies offer the ability for a person to move up or down according to his ability, dedication and decisions.

Middle classes present many levels of self-reliance not found in other systems.  Self-reliance equals freedom.

I don't see a middle class now.  And I do not say that to be smart.  All I see is the haves and the have nots. And I don't see the have nots rising up to revolt.  People are too passive aggressive to do something that radical.

I think the healthiest society is one with the largest strong middle class.

They keep the society strong and act as a guard against extremes. Middle class are mostly less arrogant and connect with both the affluent and the poor.

Most of the greatest philosophers, scientists, artists and academic achievers come from the middle class.
