  1. hi you

yes now is the time the builing line and the cost of house have dropped here so as the line of the song goes now is the hour

  2. Mind your business i think you mean 80 euro a square foot not 80 a square m , but i agree wit ever thing else you say

  3. Sure if it's in Leitrim you could put it up for 100 euro.

  4. No, just have a look at all the big  houses standing empty.

    The building boom is over.

If you're just building for yourself and your family and not expecting a profit, then well enough. But if you're building to sell I should wait, probably for some time.

  5. Buy one of the thousands of homes built already and lying idle. The boom is over and nobody is building.

  6. If you're building a family home now couldnt be a better time in Ireland. The building boom had definitely slumped so there is no shortage of builders and prices have dropped dramatically! They're nearly the ones asking you for the work! Building myself shortly, planning permission is still the big crux but best of luck x x

Cost of building 2000square foot house apx 160k, obviously thats not including the site, but if you have that already ur sorted. Builders are now apx €80 per square metre. But can get lower if you shop around or go direct labour!

  7. Get your plan drawn up apply for planning permission then when that's through, price around a number of builders.Get recommendations for decent builders and not from their relatives. With work getting scarce you'll get a better price.Little hint, the best guys are always busy.If you want a good job it pays to wait a while for the right builder. It'll save you heartache later on.If you can be there yourself to project manage and see to materials you could probably get a really good labour only price from a registered builder who doesn't supply materials. You would see to that and would then be able to negotiate good prices with the builder's merchants. The builder would keep you straight on where to source materials.

If you did it that way you'd have it built for €130,000 all in including groundwork. The other way you're looking at €160/180,000

Sooner you start the better as prices for materials will go up in line with the rise in petrol.Always does.
