  1. It's always a good time to serve your country!

  2. Well I'd say join now.

  3. yes

  4. i would join after sept 1so your done with basic training before the thanksgiving and or the xmas holidays. the reason is weekends, holidays, and any other days in case of a long holiday does not count as basic training days. when i joined i made that mistake. my first day was nov 12th and i didnt get out of basic until jan 14 of the next year.

  5. no wait till fall  boot camp is HOT

  6. I would have to say that as a new airman, the person in the oval office will not affect your daily routine too much. I was in the Air Force when Clinton was in the office and I was moblized for Kosovo and I was in the Air Force with Bush in the White House and I was mobilized for Iraq. Now as far as the folks who are telling you to join now because of the weather. Good intentions, but just because you join now, does not mean you will leave now. The average wait time for delayed enlistment now is about 3-5 months between the time you qualify and actually ship out to basic. As a recruiter, I say the best time to join is when you are QUALIFIED. If you haven't talked to a recruiter yet you may learn you're not qualified. I'm not trying to be negative, but about 9 out of 10 people who walk in my office are not qualified to join. I've dealt with people in the past who were qualifed but decided to wait. When they came back something had happened and they were no longer qualifed (gained weight, gotten injured, become a single parent) all sorts of things. My advice is call a recrutier, if you're qualified, go for it.

  7. I guess it depends on you reasons for wanting to go.  I guess right now you might see some action

  8. sure, why not?

  9. yes, this is a great time

  10. Only you can make that decision.  I can tell you this.  I would be more concerned about the weather conditions in San Antonio Texas, more than I would care about the elections.  I did basic in August/Sept time frame.  Hotter than six shades of h**l.
