  1. Its a little rough on the knees.  But as far as passing the class, its not really hard at all.

Just have to pay attention.  I have been certified for 6 years now for my job.  Its very easy.

  2. No, i was first certified when I was 17.  I have been certified for 7 years thereafter.

  3. not that ive heard

  4. No, you just have to listen in the classes and take notes in your brain of whatever is said.  Take the written part of the test and then perform the different procedures on the "dummies" to show you have learned things and then you get certification.  You just need to make sure to renew it when the time comes.

  5. I teach these classes every weekend for the Red Cross, and have certified kids as young as 10, elderly adults who do not speak English as their main language, and people with learning disabilities CPR and first aid.

You have to participate in class, demonstrate the skills to the instructor, and pass the written test with 80% or better. Depending on the class you take, there are as few as 20 questions, or, if you take every module, as many as 75.

While not perfect, the test is not designed to trip or trick you- it is pretty straightforward and uses very few technical terms, etc.

    Just do it!

  6. Nope.

    Just take the classes.

    Listen carefully.

    Pass the test.

    Bingo bango

    Cirtification!

  7. When I was working for the local city I lived in at the time and it was a requirement to take the CPR course.  It wasn't hard to be CPR certified at all.  They will walk you through very slowly step by step and you practice the proper positions on dummies.  Where to do chest thrusts and what to stay away from while doing chest thrusts.  If your going to take the course with a bunch of younger people, their will be some laughter going on and it's all in fun, but take the course very seriously.  You may just save a life some day.  We were required to renew our CPR Certificate every year.  Don't panic over taking the course.  Nobody fails the course even in the written portion.  The written portion is the last thing you will be doing, so the hands-on training that you learned will pertain to the hands-on training you just went through.  Most of the time the instructor will read the questions in front of the class.  After reading one of the questions, the class is given the opportunity to answer the question so everyone marks the correct answer together.  CPR is a good thing to know and hope you never have to perform it, but if you do, you're ready to act because of your training.  Good luck and have fun with it while in the class because if the time comes for real, it's serious time and possibly life saving.

  8. No it is not difficult.

Good luck with the course, you will find it interesting and you may just one day save a life.
