Is once upon a december from anastasia a too "overdone" musical theatre song?

I am in need of a ballad.. but it cannot be too overdone.. like wicked.

if you're looking for a good ballad..or any kind of audition song.. please don't do anything from a disney inspired show. it's really hokey. and yes, wicked is overdone.

do something that has meaning and power - like a sondheim.

Not While I'm Around from Sweeney Todd (sop or ten) or Being Alive from Company (sop, alt, ten) are two of my favorites to sing.

then there's also:

A Bit Of Earth (The Secret Garden)- sop or ten

If I Loved You (Carousel)- sop

Till There Was You (Music Man)-sop/mezzo

I personally don't like till there was you that much, but it's cute and short. if you have a pretty big range.. don't choose this song.. pick any of the others.

Both Anastasia and Wicked are NOT overdone in any way.

well anastasia is technically not a musical theatre song, but I have really never heard it at recent auditions. I agree, Wicked is sooo overdone these days. I think you are safe going with anything from Anastasia. I love that movie.
