So i have a Dr. appointment today and I'm going after work, and wearing strappy heels. I forgot to bring socks with me, as I usually do for a OB GYN appointment because I'm a bit iffy about putting my bare feet on the "feet holders". Is it okay for me to wear my heels when getting examed? I would feel VERY odd but then again, i would feel yucky to put my feet up there without anything on. HELP!

  1. I'm sure your gyn's nurse can supply a couple of sterile prep towels that you can place onto the footholders.  Sure sounds better than hi-heels to me.

  2. You shouldn't wear heels during your exam. Most offices have pads that they change with each exam over the stirrups. You can let the staff know too about your concerns they may have some foot covers they can give you as well.

  3. Oh honey!

It's okay to put your bare feet in the stirrups. Many of them are covered with some kind of hospital footie and they are changed after each exam.

I feel your pain, though...it is quite awkward...but wearing your strappy sandals on the exam table is even more awkward.

You could always run to the store on the way to your appt. and buy a pair.
