Is online high school a good idea?

I'm going to be a senior in high school next year in Palm Beach County FL.

If online high school is a good idea what are some good schools?

Whether or not it is a good idea depends on your goals and situation.  Online high school can be great if you are motivated to complete your work and able to work independently.  You can participate in social activities in the community, independent of the school.

My son graduated an online charter school and now attends the University of Dayton with scholarships. There are many options and there are also some free ones in Florida

I go to FLVS its great. They have great courses for middle school and high school students. You have more time and its a lot of fun. You can finish your courses even faster. It is most certainly a great idea.

Honestly I dont recommend it.  I am currently taking an online German II course and I hate it.  Most likely because I learn best when someone verbally explains something to me, especially with a foriegn language, simply reading an explanation doesnt help me learn.  But I use Keystone high school http://keystonehighschool.com , its accredited and everything.  You need to figure out how you learn best, if you can learn math by looking at an example and teach yourself, then try it.  But you have to be disciplined, because I kind of did some here and there, and now im really behind and have to work on it practically all day to finish on time.  I would have much rathered taking it in school [but they dont offer it anymore so I had to take it online to get my other credit]  You've suffered through 3 years of high school, your senior year is supposed to be your best, why would you want to drop it and go online?  All of your friends will be in school anyway.  But thats just my advice

No.  The purpose of high school is to prepare you for college.  You can't get that kind of interaction and support from an online high school.

online-its good b/c you can work at your own pace wheneever you have time to do it.&nd you can sleep in![;

real high school-is wayyyyyy more fun.you still do the same stuff,plus you get to be w/ your friends.yea,you do have to get up early.up you get hands on teaching,&nd pep rallys and sports and dances and a whole bunch of other fun things.

you for real could neever pay me enough to do online school.i love my high school[;
