Is ordering off Informercials Safe?

Question

I want to order something off an informercial but my sister said if you order off the informercial they will keep sending you stuff and making you pay for things you never ordered?! Is this true? have you ever ran into this problem?

a lot of popular infomercial products can eventually be bought in a section of department stores such as As Seen on TV or something.  if not i would buy over the internet or just find a more reliable product at an actual store.  i wouldnt try just because i try to avoid potential hassles like that.

Honestly, anything can be sold through an infommercial.  All the infommercial is, basically, is a marketing platform.  The real homework should be on the product or company that made it.  http://www.ripoffreport.com is a great place to check.

Don't distrust infommercials because other companies with bad business practices used them.  Some marketers rely on those as they're flagship marketing platform, and you just might miss a great new product because of your prejudice :)

well she is right in a way..one time my parents ordered these videos, just 2..but then..they kept sending more and more and more after and chraged them for it...if you agree to them, make sure they dont have something there that says unless you cancel that you will be obligated to get more and they will charge you...

honestly, what i do, is if i see somethiNG I  want, i go on amazon.com and buy it there, no hassle , fast shipping..same brand/quality etc

Yes, it's true- although not always. Yes, I've run into it. Most of the time you can either wait and it will comes to Walmart or Walgreens. If it's something big- you can usually do a search on google and find somewhere to buy just the item that you want. I've had lots of good luck getting that kind of stuff from eBay. Good luck! :-)
