is it true.

NO ITS A GOOD SITE. BUT U KNOW PEOPLE CAN HECK AND THAT CAN HAPPEN IN FACEBOOK OR IN MY SPACE ALSO.

Orkut is a open site where people interact.

this site is very helpful to search ur old friends who r not in ur contact any more.

Yes,Orkut is good site to let you find your lost friends and equally,let you make new friends(But be sure when you add friends).

But,you should not write about your very personal or important issues on the scrap,like your address,mobile no,etc as it is readable by all in orkut, and it can be fatal and disaster.

It is just for sharing light conversation and keeping in touch with all friends.

i think its a good site if you don't do anything else then only socializing otherwise its bad....i think you got it now...but i would like to tell you one thing you should not post or send your original photographs to anyone on that site....(please always remember this anyone means anyone...whether its your best friend...

It depends on how u use it..if u are using it only for some stupid shallow purpose, then it is not orkut, it is you who is responsible. Many good things are also happening on orkut and they are most amazing, Orkut is a wonderful common platform for people to know many things like yahoo answers as you see some people ask stupid questions and they dont make any sense. So it depends how good u make of an asset.
