I'm curious... what is the largest amount of grant money, assistance, etc that a business or individual can receive for alternative energy R&D (other than ethanol) on both a State and Federal level?

  1. Most grants, as you know go to universities and business, but some are available to individuals.

grants.gov is a clearinghouse for available money.  You can search by keyword to see if anything fits your interest/expertise.

  2. No the government should speed up the process of approving nuclear power plant construction.

  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2tsMEocl...

watch it all or tune in 4 mins into the video and you'll get you answer

  4. Congressman Charlie Rangel (D-New York) leases a Cadillac DeVille for $774 a month with taxpayer money.

In defense of his taxpayer-funded Cadillac, Rangel says, "The car isn't just a vehicle for getting around; it's an important part of doing my job, and my constituents appreciate it."

But why not question the mindset of a congressmen who complains about oil companies but drive around in gas-guzzling automobiles.

Such members of Congress should be doing more to lessen America's dependence on foreign oil -- and those congressmen who do otherwise are being "hypocritical."

  5. Well, if you give the university scientists money all they do is concoct computer models telling us the temp will rise another degree.  If these guys are so freaking smart why don't they have an alternative already?

If you want an alternative that beats oil sitting in the ground waiting to be pumped, you're not going to find it.

Let the market work.  It is the most efficient at solving problems.  It doesn't need government "help".
