  1. That all depends...In the short term it probably is cheaper.  However, in the long run if your customers can't understand the customer service rep who is supposed to be assisting them in their situation, then you are probably going to lose their goodwill & word of mouth will spread that the customer service is poor & not worth any savings that might be an incentive to purchase your product.  Your number of return customers will likely drop drastically.


  2. Costs to service outside the USA are much cheaper.  One reason I believe is that unions here raise payroll so high, our companies can't make a profit.  

    Blame the teamsters !

    So yes, an Indian call center will be cheaper.  But realize your customers may not appreciate India because their accents are hard for some Americans to understand.

  4. Of course.  You can only get away with paying less than the UK minimum wage if you employ people in Bongo-Bongo Land.
